Work with executives, middle management and employees of The Connection and our customers to determine needs and provide guidance for full life cycle of application development, including scope, design, testing, enhancements, and implementation. Provide software training and operational support to all staff and lead cross-functional project teams.

Representative Projects:

Produced a billing history and image retrieval system for The Connection using Visual Basic 6 and ADO. This application allows our users to search on any combination of 35 different fields to produce a result. The program will also provide an image from our system that the user print, fax, or E-mail the image to our customers in a variety of image formats.
Researched, designed, developed, and implemented a document imaging and storage solution. Performed all of the front and back end operations, including the research into which scanner and scanner control tools to purchase. The application uses Visual Basic 6 and Kofax ImageControls to allow the user to scan batches of documents, read the barcode on the document, and store the image index and storage location to a SQL Server database for retrieval. Also created a system to manually key in and store images that had no barcode.
Developed a multi-stage system to build and process all of our Electronic Data Interchange EDI transmissions using Visual Basic, SQL, and Access. Created EDI import files by gathering the billing and tracking information from our database for our customers. Processed the billing and pickup information from our customers into our system. Developed a system to display and manage the pickup information for our employees.
Created an automated rating system to rate our daily bills using Visual Basic and the RateWare COM object. Automating this system enabled The Connection to reduce cost by paring its rating staff to only one person. Billing information is gathered from the SQL tables, processed and modified through Visual Basic and passed to the COM object to rate. The newly rated data is then passed back through Visual Basic to the SQL Server for billing, eliminating manual rating process.
Redesigned the customer invoicing system for The Connection. Taking the final billing information and creating an individualized invoice combined with any custom documentation that the customer may require. This program also creates the EDI billing information as well as sending documentation via FTP and E-mail to customers who request this service.
Designed and developed the customer data entry and maintenance system. This system also includes all of the customers pricing and discount entry and maintenance along with a template for the employees to pass pricing information to and from similar customers. This ability saved The Connection time and money.
Created custom queries and reports on a daily basis. SQL and Crystal Reports are used to produce this critical data, based on communication with company executives, employees, and our customers.
Developed many of the mission-critical applications that The Connection and its employees use on a daily basis. These programs include Claim Entry Manifest Entry DR Entry and more.
