You will be providing first line DTA and third line Prod support of all Sybase ASE and Replication Servers as well as application DBA support of Financial Markets Summit and Murex applications. Next to this: database development, tuning and optimization in close cooperation with the application development and support teams on a continual basis.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Key Skills: Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise 15.0.3 and 15.7 and Sybase Replication Server 15.7 (unidirectional replication and warm standby).

Good Tools experience: Interactive SQL, DB Artisan, CVS, TSM Client Shell Scripting (ksh).

Responsibilities:

Improve monitoring ofall database systems, utilizing vendor supplied and our standard tools.
Maintain complete inventory, configuration and documentation of deployed systems.
Identify operational and infrastructure risks within the environment and work with the application development and support team to make corrections and mitigate risks.
Third line support of the operational DBA’s in troubleshooting production issues.
Maintain top - notch technical skills and financial business knowledge through proactive self-learning.
Must have extensive and proven troubleshooting, recovery, DB and optimization and administration experience in a large and mission critical enterprise environments (50 managed Servers). Strong experience on Linux platforms.
