Application Development, Data Analysis, Reverse Engineering
Responsibilities:
- System Migrations (Worked to convert client software from Legacy Payment Net System to Payment Net 4 System)
- Participated in the creation of the Process to guide the RE team to success
- This project entailed Reverse Engineering legacy (VB6 projects with SQL Stored ProceduresandCrystal Reports) into specifications for similar programs in the new Payment Net 4 system. There were several Business / Technical documents used for this process as follows:
- RE - Reverse Engineer (Business Document)
- Legacy to Payment Net 4 DB Structure Conversion (used to Automate the RE document)
- CM - Capabilities Matrix (Business Document)
- Payment Net 4 DB table and field names to View field names used in Mapforce (used to Automate Capabilities Matrix document). This document served as the Specification document for creating the Payment Net 4 programs.
- The system was converted from a SQL Server platform having separate databases for each client to an Oracle platform with a new database design containing all client data in a single database.
- The programs converted were specialized client output files from the Payment net system which were used by the client for various purposes. (loading other system, reports etc.)
- These programs known as Mappers were based in VB6/VBA and SQL Server on the Legacy side and converted to XSLT and Oracle on the New Payment Net 4 system side.
- The project management was tracked though customized SharePoint applications created and modified by our team. Each individual member also had the capability to customize SharePoint pages output to his or her liking to enhance that individuals understanding. Management leaned heavily on this system to determine the progress for each leg of the migration. Each Migration Leg was a two month process moving several bank clients for each leg.
- Another part of the process was the development of Mapforce programs which are compiled to create the XSLT files to produce the Mappers which matched or closely matched the output from the Legacy system.
- Next we are worked on a 2ndproject to convert Access, Excel and SAS reports to the new Payment Net system. We are using a similar process to perform this operation.
