Responsibilities:

  • Communicated with TI s managers and figured out that they needed a high quality mathematic model to predict their transaction conversion rate.
  • Explored TI s transaction data, cleaned outliers and empty observations, and transformed skewed variables by using Python.
  • Clustered TI s customer data into 5 segments with unsupervised machine learning algorithms PCA and K - means, and visualized features of each customer group in Tableau.
  • Executing Scikit-learn in Python, we trained classification models, including Logistic Regression, Random Forest, and Support Vector Machine, to predict transaction conversion rate and evaluated training results using Cross-validation.
  • The final mathematical model has a 79 percent accuracy and potentially increases TI s revenue by 35 percent when a suggested price modification is applied. Fortunately, we entered final round and got the 3rd place.

  • Preprocessed dataset and joined demographic information and election results on county level using SAS studio
  • Explored patterns between election results and demographic information like race, population, age, education and income by using Tableau.
  • Created a dashboard and a story in Tableau to present the relationships which we found from 2016 Prime Election.
