Additional graph layout and design settings allowed standardization of workbooks (cloning) across all the diseases monitored. Reducing manual updates of worksheets permitted a consistent master report to be published.
  • Automated the Top 25 Diagnosis and Top 25 ICD-9 reports. Historically, each permutation of age and gender variables required manual updates to each worksheet. Redesigned these complex reports utilizing VBA to drive nested SQL queries. VBA permitted cycling of variables (age, gender, etc.) which passed to the imbedded worksheet queries, graphs and filters. This created over one hundred detailed workbooks for inclusion in each master report. This automation generated savings of over 1 month of production time. This process was applied to the Top 25 ICD-9 Diagnosis Annual report as well.
  • Developed a monitor to identify members at risk for postpartum depression. Created an application utilizing Access, Excel and SQL queries to review member’s claims. Potential members at risk for postpartum depression were identified using CPT codes, ICD-9 codes, medication history and other factors. Identified members received al materials on postpartum depression and a health nurse follow-up. This pilot program was approved and was implemented nationwide.
