I also Created a couple of new job streams from scratch. Jobs were primarily on Unix systems. I used Perl scripts to assist in testing and for database queries. Created shell scripts to automate many of the processes.

  • Hired as a consultant to convert a large Perl managed batch update to Autosys managed processing. The system we worked on was very complex. Our upgrade had to run error free error the very first night upon rollout. Testing was very thorough. We installed the processes into multiple test environments. The processes were tested hundreds of times over the period of many months before the production install.
  • Since Autosys was new to the support team I tutored several of the permanent employees how to create and manage Autosys processes before my contract was complete. All 3 incremental production installations went flawlessly. The project completed on time and under budget. Our small team of 3 accomplished a lot of work. Our senior project manager was very pleased with the largest project he had ever supervised.
  • I created many Perl and ksh scripts to be used in the Autosys production processes. I wrote many additional shell scripts to automate testing and verify implementation of new code within the different test environments. Perl DBI was used to verify Oracle database updates.
