• To leverage twenty years of experience in database, application, Unix and Windows design/implementation to provide innovative solutions to increase company productivity and enhance information flow.

SUMMARY:

• Maintain and update Data Warehouse pertaining to State Medicaid claims and services, using C, PL/SQL, embedded SQL, stored procedures, UNIX scripting, and ERwin Data modeling.
• Developed three Perl/DBI applications, two of which imported/exported database disputed credit card information, to an XML formatted file. The third Perl application added, deleted or updated customer information via a fixed length file.
• Implementation of new client reporting using TACL scripting and Batchcom setup on Tandem, and writing SQL queries for clients, queries ranged from taxing information for card balances per state to more complex querying for card balance depletions from purchase to current date.
• Updated and developed a Tandem pathway application to support variable length call detail records. Application allowed support for Nortel’s software controlled switches, which decreased Sprints dependency on nearly maxed out hardware switches.
• Developed the Server side of a Client/Server application to reconcile monthly wholesale billing system to daily call records. CORBA (COM), and Oracle Pro - C were used to connect from the Tandem non-stop server to a Sun Unix system hosting an Oracle 9i server containing information for daily call record feeds. SQL and stored procedures were used to sum the call records to verify each account. With this added ability to our wholesale billing system, we were able to send daily feeds electronically to our customers instead of costly monthly media tapes, which allowed MCI’s customers shorter turn around times for billing.
• Developed on a Tandem system, the Client side of a Client/Server Discounting application for Wholesale billing system. Used Non-Stop SQLCI to summarize usage for each account and used Non-Stop DOM CORBA (COM) to transfer the data to a SUN system to be inserted into an Oracle server via Pro-C SQL for processing. The resultant discount data is retrieved via CORBA and inserted into the Tandem discounting table via SQLCI. By automating, discounting, and linking this summarized information to the wholesale invoicing system MCI’s Revenue Services department no longer needed to spend time manually calculating discounts for the following months’ bill. This allowed our customers to see direct correlations of discounts based on their current usage which reduced invoicing disputes.
• Designed and developed a monthly Taxing application for a Wholesale Internet billing system. Created partitioned Oracle tables to store taxing rules, customer information, and resulting tax data. Used C++ and Oracle Pro-C, PL/SQL to access an Oracle 9i server to tax all accounts for the specified billing period. The overall development for the Wholesale Internet billing system lowered the billing time from 14 days to 3 days and increased its reliability by moving the billing to a single closed secure system for invoicing.
• Lead developer for a wholesale long distant invoicing system. Lead designer/coordinator for development teams from multiple companies. Used Visibroker and Actuate to create a CORBA (COM) based Server application utilizing the Actuate API to generate the invoices for wholesale long distance customers. By generating invoices with Actuate the current and past invoices were accessible via Intranet by Revenue Services and Customer Services. Auto reconciliation reports were generated from these invoices to reduce Revenue Services time for verifying billing, thus the $2 billion/year Wholesale Invoicing System was able to be verified more accurately, and in less time.
