Systems Analyst Resume
Indianapolis, IN
Dear Hiring Manager,I’m a 17 year developer who has focused primarily on Confidential . Traditionally I’ve always considered myself and marketed myself as a web developer. However, realizing that SQL is my strongest skill and a relatively newfound affinity for SSRS report writing, I’ve begun to consider more data and report focused opportunities in conjunction or en lieu of web development.I have a proven history of successfully learning new skills and effectively and correctly applying those new skills while on the job. Case in point is my time at Confidential. It was originally a 6 month contract doing exclusively proprietary software development. I had never seen it before nor will I again. My mastery was profound enough that it elicited positive feedback to be sent from a business analyst to my manager and two contract extensions for a total of 18 months. The aforementioned feedback included “I wanted to send you a note applauding Confidential .He is not only knowledgeable, but also methodical and detail oriented. The current workflow for Suspect Dupes is very difficult and not like any we have worked on before this. I knew it would take longer to complete the process. Confidential is always patient. He has a good eye, and at times has found something I may have missed and need to add or at least clarify. I really appreciate working with someone like Confidential.”Below are a few excerpts from my most recent annual performance review. I’m certain my reviewing manager would corroborate them.
- Confidential likes working on the team and wants to contribute any way he can. He is always willing to work extra or take on something new and unfamiliar if needed. He does not give up easily when a strange technical problem presents itself.Jason is good with technical issues within the application and finding ways to solve them in the code - behind, the html, Ajax, CSS, etc. He will do the research and stick with it to find solutions.
- Confidential’s work is well-received. He does not have a lot of direct client interaction, but where opportunities exist (Ex. Maine and their various file uploads, and Colorado during the scanning project) they appreciate his attitude, responsiveness to their needs, and willingness to help.
- Confidential is a team player and is genuinely willing to help where needed to further the team goals. He likes to assist other team members and new employees. He is flexible and will put in extra time when needed.
- He is good at finding solutions to technical issues using code-behind, html, Ajax, CSS, and is improving his knowledge of the Configurable Framework.
- Confidential has taken on the task of designing and implementing a replacement for the obsolete report viewer control in all states. This has required research and much testing to make it work in each state, across browsers, etc. This is an ongoing task that he works on as time allows.
- Over the last year Jason has improved his ability to “switch gears” and work in various states as needs arise.
- Good communication.
- Confidential often shares helpful technical tips or knowledge that he finds with team members via email.
- Confidential handles basic bugs, support tasks, and billable change orders in all of our states. He has responsibility for several ongoing periodic support tasks that he completes without supervision, working with clients as needed.(Ex. Oklahoma’s SOS list, Maine legislative document and MCEA vendor list uploads, maintaining Help page integration in all states.)
My resume immediately follows.

ASP.NET/SQL Developer
Indianapolis, IN
Responsibilities:
- Solely accountable for the Transamerica development, monitoring, support and daily success.
- Responsible for the development of the Transamerica line of business database. This responsibility included queries (SQL), stored procedures, views, modifying existing and creating new tables, modifying constraints, primary and foreign keys, debugging, answering questions and ad hoc requests.
- Created new VB.NET win forms application that read files provided by third parties and enrolled members into the TransAmerica health benefit system. Its VB 6 predecessor offered no feedback but would simply fail to load into the database. Prior to the new application the end user would have to painstakingly review the file, or in most cases, have support (me) debug the file of hundreds of new enrollees. The new program would load the file into a datagrid and identify and highlight the problem data. Examples of problem data might be “XX” used as a state abbreviation, an invalid gender, zip code missing, family coverage chosen but only an employee was provided, et cetera. This entirely new application gave the user the ability to correct the data within the user interface instead of manually correcting the file, saving it, and again attempting to load it into the database. It also would ignore enrollees already loaded into the database.
- Developed new VB.NET desktop application that read from a SQL Server database and then created an array of files that were sent to the fulfillment department so that certificates and membership cards could be printed and mailed. Using SQL, XML and XSLT, this process also created fixed-width files for loading into the RIMS system.
- Wrote ASP.NET web application that allowed business users to administer existing and create new enrollee groups and plans in the TransAmerica health benefit system SQL database.
- Upgraded and supported VB 6 applications that permitted claims to be scanned and MS Access databases created utilizing a third party component provided by DocuStream.
- Supported numerous end users with day-to-day problem solving, SQL data corrections, and answering questions.
- Made minor modifications to existing C# applications.
- Worked with Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Outstanding rapport with internal customers.
- Managed source control using Visual Source Safe.
