  • Plan and test service pack apply for SQL Server clustered instances. Test on Sandbox server and develop plan for implementation. Lead team of DBAs who implemented service packs on servers. Perform upgrades on development, then QA, and then production clustered servers.
  • Lead project to change passwords on 51 SQL Server clusters and 25 Standalone SQL Server instances. I researched the project first with Microsoft support and then tested on our sandbox server. I worked with a team of 3 on the Standalone SQL Servers and then a team of 4 to change the 51 clusters over one weekend. Servers and tasks to work on along with order and specific changes to make were put in an organized plan so that each DBA knew what items to do, what order to them in and how and so that each had the same amount of work to do. We then tested all clusters by failing them over and back, tested Standalones by stopping and starting instances and all was completed with no issues.

  • Collaborate with storage administrators and system administrators on long-term project to configure SAN storage for all SQL clusters to optimize storage and configuration settings.
